NEW ULM — It appears Minnesota’s new “Grandparents Happy Hour” law effective Aug. 1, 2026 in nursing homes and assisted living facilities, won’t change things much in area nursing homes. The new law allows assisted living facilities, and boarding care homes to serve alcohol to residents and guests during organized events without a liquor license.
