Follow virtues of faith, hope, love; avoid hate

To the editor:

A letter to the editor from Burnsville June 13 refers to reducing hate. It is so important to voice your opinion on the world situation. Misunderstanding and confusion create a greater need for working together to solve not just the world’s problems short term, but long term problems. Discussion is good, it relieves frustration and shows we are all human and want the best for our country.

President Trump has projected strength and love of country by discussion and negotiation with many other countries. Trump demonstrates partnership in finding a common goal for national peace. It has been stated that over 200 people were killed in the bombing of ships bringing illegal drugs into the U.S. Yes. We have the responsibility to protect our people. When our country’s laws are broken, the consequences are not pretty. Same goes for foreigners crossing our borders illegally. The ICE police have to carry out orders to deport the illegal aliens and sometimes it “ain’t pretty”.

But with cooperation and understanding, we could avoid rioting, which costs peoples’ lives, as was the case in the Minneapolis / ICE deportations of illegal Somalians. This could have been avoided, had the governor, mayor, and attorney general not incited the protesters.

Yes, indeed, call your congressman. You not only have the right, but the duty as a citizen to do so. Talk about your concerns. You will be enlightened with the truth and “common sense” approach about the decisions made versus the sensational news media reports. The news media has been using this tactic for years. If you repeat the same incomplete information over and over, people will begin to believe it.

Biden dug the hole so deep, it will take fortitude and patience to surface. Concerning the agreement with Iran, the oil and gas prices are coming down, investments are going up and the economy will follow. It will take working together and resilience to see this through, the good Lord willing. Mother Teresa of Calcutta stated, “If your heart is full of hate, there is no room for love”.

Remember the virtues, faith, hope, and love, and the greatest of these is love.
