Springfield 67, BOLD 53

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield defeated BOLD on Tuesday in a nonconference boys’ basketball game.

Carter Hillesheim led the Tigers with 19 points, five rebounds and six assists. Brayden Sturm added 11 points while James Coffland and Logan Richert each had 10 points. Richert had eight rebounds. Brendon Buerkle had 9 points and eight rebounds.

Springfield (9-2, 5-2) will play at Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (9-0, 5-0) on Tuesday.

BLHS 73, GFW 65

WINTHROP — Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart defeated Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game.

Brody Hentges led the Thunderbirds with 23 points and Alex Johnson scored 15 points.

St. Mary’s 80, CM 67

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s defeated Cedar Mountain on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference boys’ basketball game.

Carson Domeier led all scorers with 37 points, 15 rebounds and three assists. Trent Steffensmeier scored 18 points and he added five assists. Kaleb Wait had 12 points and 10 rebounds.

Nick Freitag led the Cougars with 18 points and Max Pendleton scored 12 points.

St. Mary’s will play at Mankato Loyola on Thursday. CM (5-5, 4-3) will host GFW on Friday.

LCWM 87, Nicollet 47

LAKE CRYSTAL– Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial crushed Nicollet on Tuesday in Valley Conference boys’ basketball action.

Conner Martens led the Raiders with 24 points, Cody Strunk added 9 points and Jeff Volby had 5 points.

LSH 65, Sibley East 50

LE SUEUR — Le Sueur-Henderson defeated Sibley East in boys’ basketball action on Tuesday.

For the Wolverines, Zach Kettner and Zach Pazdernick led the way with 10 points each.

Girls’ basketball

New Ulm 60, Waseca 51

WASECA– New Ulm defeated Waseca on Tuesday in Big South Conference girls’ basketball action.

Morgan Hulke led the Eagles with 21 points. Kenzie Enter scored 15 points (all of them were 3s) and Brooklyn Lewis added 9 points.

New Ulm (6-5, 2-2) will play at St. Peter on Thursday.

St. Mary’s 86, CM 34

MORGAN — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s downed Cedar Mountain on Tuesday in Tomahawk Conference girls’ basketball action.

Madison Mathiowetz led the Knights with 37 points, 15 rebounds and seven assists. Reagan Severson added 13 points, five rebounds and four assists. Natalie Fisher scored 12 points.

For CM, Teresa Larsen had 16 points, Megan Sandgren added 14 points and 11 rebounds.
