Area roundup: Raiders take down Knights

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Nicollet 64, Alden-Conger 49

NICOLLET — Nicollet downed Alden-Conger 64-49 Monday night in a Valley Conference girls basketball game.

Leah Bode led the Raiders with 27 points and 10 rebounds. Shannon Soost had 16 points, 19 rebounds, five assists and six steals for Nicollet, and Brooklyn Bode recorded 8 points and five assists.

Macy Mattson paced the Knights with 19 points, while Alivia Newman added 17 points.

Nicollet (10-14, 8-7) travels Thursday to take on Cleveland at 7 p.m.

GFW 59, ACGC 47

WINTRHOP — Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop defeated Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City 59-47 Monday night in a nonconference girls basketball game.

Brynn Busse led GFW with 26 points and eight rebounds, while Nicole Duehn scored 14 points.

Ruby Klinger was the top scorer for ACGC with 26 points.

GFW (11-9, 5-6) travels to play Windom Area on Thursday.

BOYS BASKETBALL

BOLD 85, GFW 62

BIRD ISLAND — BOLD defeated GFW 85-62 in a nonconference boys basketball game Monday night.

Dominic Rose paced the Thunderbirds with 21 points, while Cole Jacobson scored 18 points and Easton Taylor added 12.

Ryan King led BOLD with 24 points, while Jack Gross had 19.

GFW (10-10, 5-6) host Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday.

Cedar Mountain 88,

HL-O/F 51

OKABENA — Cedar Mountain cruised past Heron Lake-Okaberna/Fulda Monday night in a nonconference boys basketball matchup.

Dakota Pendleton Sam led the Cougars with 34 points, 16 rebounds and eight assists. Branndon Pendleton recorded 18 points, while Max Pendleton added 13 points and five rebounds.

Cedar Mountain (7-10, 4-6) will host Sleepy Eye on Tuesday.

MARSHALL — New Ulm defeated Marshall and Fairmont on Monday in a prep gymnastics triangular.

New Ulm’s Emma Radloff tied for third on vault (24.55), while teammate Sophia Berger took fifth on vault (24.475). On bars, New Ulm saw Jocelyn Sellner take first with a 31.925, while Radloff took third with a 7.35.

On beam, Radloff took first (8.575), while teammate Olivia Eckstein took second (8.325). On floor, Sellner finished third (8.575) and Eckstein tied for fourth (8.45).

All-around, Sellner finished second with a 31.925, while Eckstein turned in a 31.7 to take third.
