STARK — The Springfield Tigers defeated the Stark Longhorns 6-4 Wednesday in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.

Justin Haugo got the win for Springfield, striking out five while allowing three runs on four hits in five innings. At the plate for the Tigers, Decker Scheffler was 3 for 5 with an RBI and a run scored, while Jacob Poehler was 3 for 5 with two RBIs and a run scored. Tori Helget was 2 for 5 with a run scored, and Carter Erickson and Ryan Sturm each had two hits and an RBI.

Nick Labat took the loss for Stark, striking out three while allowing six runs on 12 hits in six innings. At the plate, Sean Mathiowetz was 2 for 4, while David Surprenant was 1 for 3 with two RBIs.

Springfield (7-4) hosts St. James on Sunday. Stark (5-5) hosts Leavenworth on Sunday.
