PIPESTONE — The Wabasso Rabbits will be sending Andrew Morin and Liz Morin to the State Track and Field Tournament following the completion of the Section 3A Track and Field Championships at Pipestone Area High School on Thursday.

Andrew Morin qualified for state in the boys 3,200 after running a personal-best time of 9.59.6 in the event Thursday to finish first. Liz Morin will compete in the girls state triple jump after taking first in the event Thursday with a top jump of 34 feet, 8 inches.

Tyson Lightfoot just missed out on reaching state for the Rabbits also but turned in a solid showing in the boys 110 hurdles and 300 hurdles. He took third in each event on Thursday, with a personal-best time of of 16.83 seconds in the 110 hurdles and personal-best time of 42.68 seconds in the 300 hurdles.

Elsie Leopold had a strong effort in the girls 800 also, running a 2:29.92 to finish fourth, while Madelyn Fogelson took fifth in the girls shot put (31-03.5).
