Tomahawk Conference releases 2024 golf awards

The Tomahawk Conference released its All-Conference awards on Thursday, with Sleepy Eye United’s Sam Price being named the Tomahawk Conference Girls Golf MVP and Minnesota Valley Lutheran’s Ben Pearson being named the Tomahawk Conference Boys Golf MVP.

In addition to Price being All-Conference MVP and finishing as an All-Conference golfer, seven other golfers were named to the All-Conference girls team. Making the team with Price were MVL’s Jorga Brown and Mackenzie Merseth, New Ulm Cathedral’s Alaina Blomberg, Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop’s Jenna Schweiss, Springfield’s Mavri Winkelmann, SEU’s Chloe Walter and Wabasso’s Chloe Rohlik. Girls Honorable Mention golfers were SEU’s Meriden Andres and Kiara Murphy, MVL’s Gabbie Bleick, Cedar Mountain’s Bailey Woodford and Cathedral’s Kaitlyn Furth.

SEU coach Bryant Mages was named the conference’s girls Coach of the Year.

Joining Pearson on the All-Conference boys team were Springfield’a Ben Potter and Ben Davis, Cathedral’s Joey Fingland, Will Marti, Ben Blomberg and Owen Strei, SEU’s Kaleb Weiss, and Cedar Mountain’s Blake Schueller and Carson Schiller. Boys Honorable Mention golfers included Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart’s Chase Hubin and Sawyer Melberg, MVL’s James Osterman, Springfield’s Easton Jensen and SEU’s Nolan Kucera.

Springfield’s Paul Arnoldi was named the conference’s boys Coach of the Year.
