Goblirsch siblings, Kirchberg, Ferrell win 36th Cathedral Golf Classic
Submitted photo/information
The 36th annual Cathedral Golf Classic was held on Monday, August 7, was another gorgeous day for golf. With 36 teams golfing, the tournament was kicked off at 11 a.m. this year allowing for an earlier supper time. To add to the excitement of the day were several on-course events including Buy-a-Drive, Boozapalooza, and a Hole-In-One Pedal Cruiser Giveaway. When the teams rolled in at the end of the day, prizes were awarded for the longest putt, longest drive, and closest to the pin. Prior to the meal being served, the live auction began. This year, the auction included six popular items such as being first in line for the buffet and a sought-after golf club. Local baker and student at Cathedral High School, Megan Fingland, created an outstanding cake with her business Sweets n’ Stuff that was auctioned off for $1,000. The highest bidding table enjoyed the delectable cake for dessert. NUACS is grateful for the continued generosity of the golfers and sponsors who help make the Cathedral Golf Classic an enjoyable success.
