Area roundup: Cougars sweep, advance to Section 2A semifinals

ST. PETER — Second-seeded Cedar Mountain swept third-seeded Martin County West 25-21, 25-6, 25-23 on Tuesday night in a Section 2A, South Subsection semifinals volleyball match at St. Peter High School.
Hailey Hollar led the Cougars in the win with 13 kills and 17 digs, while Teresa Larsen had eight kills and four blocks and Mykenna Vollmer had seven kills and four blocks. Nadia Meyers had 34 set assists and six kills also for Cedar Mountain, while Lauren Baringer had 25 digs, Aubrey Steffl had 18 digs and Kylie Koerner added 13 digs.
Cedar Mountain will play top-seeded Cleveland in the South Subsection finals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday at Mankato East High School.
Minneota 3, Wabasso 0
MARSHALL — Top-seeded Minneota swept fourth-seeded Wabasso 25-9, 25-19, 25-11 on Tuesday night in a Section 3A playoff volleyball match at Southwest Minnesota State University.
Alivia Olson led the Rabbits with 11 kills, while Avery Carlson had seven kills and 19 digs, Natasha Doubler had four kills and Kelsey Frank had 20 set assists and 19 digs. Audrey Johnson also had 19 digs for Wabasso, which ended its season with an 18-8 overall record.
Cleveland 3, Springfield 0
ST. PETER — Top-seeded Cleveland swept fifth-seeded Springfield 25-14, 25-23, 25-18 on Tuesday night at St. Peter High School in a Section 2A, South Subsection semifinals volleyball match.
