New Ulm Police

• Stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation at Highland Ave. South and Flandrau Lane at 1:20 a.m. Jan. 28. An 18-year-old New Ulm female was cited for underage consumption. A report for underage consumption, possession and open container by a 17-year-old New Ulm female passenger was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Responded to a domestic call involving an individual with a knife at 11:48 a.m. Jan. 30. A 40-year-old New Ulm woman told police physical altercation happened between she and her husband, a 32-year-old New Ulm man. The woman did not have injuries. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of assault, domestic assault and interfering with an emergency call.

• Took a report at 2:59 p.m. Jan. 30 of an elementary student claiming another elementary student was handing out pills on a school bus. The school resource officer talked with five and seven-year-old New Ulm girls and was told multi-vitamin and supplement pills were taken from a residence. A girl’s father was contacted and advised of the situation. A report was done for documentation.

• Took a report at 4:54 p.m. Jan. 30 of a broken rear window of a 2008 Jeep Liberty while parked in Running’s parking lot. Damage was estimated at $70. A report was done for documentation.

• Performed a welfare check on a 19-year-old New Ulm woman at 10:15 a.m. Jan. 31. The woman was found to be suffering from a mental health crisis and was transported to New Ulm Medical Center via ambulance. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

State Patrol

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 8:35 a.m. Jan. 30 on U.S. Highway 212 and 8th Street East, Hector Township, Renville County. A 2008 Saturn Aura driven by Becky Jo Dickenson, 56, Hector, was traveling eastbound on Highway 212 when it collided with ab eastbound 2007 Honda Odyssey driven by Ashley Marie Benson, 35, St. Paul. Dickenson was transported to an Olivia emergency room with non-life threatening injuries. Both drivers wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. Hector Police and Ambulance assisted.
