ST. JAMES — The Sleepy Eye Legion Post 7 baseball team got a go-ahead single in the seventh by Adam Braulick to take down St. James Post 33 by a score of 3-2 on Thursday night.

Kayden Klein pitched all seven innings to earn the win, allowing seven hits and one walk for two runs, one earned, while striking out three. Tyler Mathiowetz led Sleepy Eye at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a double and a run scored, while Jacob Fulmer and Klein each added an RBI.

SPRINGFIELD 10, TRUMAN 0 (5 INNINGS)

SPRINGFIELD — Springfield Legion Post 257 shut out Truman Post 115 on Thursday in a legion baseball game, winning 10-0 in five innings.

The game ended in five due to the 10-run lead rule, which was triggered on an error that scored Madden Lendt in the bottom of the fifth for the 10th run.

Lendt went 2 for 2 with a double, an RBI and three runs scored for Springfield, while Elie Trevino was 2 for 3 with a double. Adiel Trevino and Brecken Heiling also each had a hit and an RBI for Springfield. Noah Mueller got the shutout on the mound, going five innings and allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six.
