New Ulm Police
• Responded to a residential burglary report at 5:34 p.m. Friday on the 1400 block, Maplewood Drive. A suspect appeared to enter a residence through a kitchen window. Cash was reported missing. Neighbors reported seeing a newer silver Jeep and man approaching the residence. A report went to investigators.
• Stopped a vehicle for suspicious activity at 1:31 a.m. Saturday on the 1200 block Franklin Street North. Impairment clues were detected before a Mankato man, 29, was arrested and transported to detox. A report for consideration of a third-degree DWI charge was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office and to Brown County Probation.
• A 40-year-old New Ulm woman told police at 9:32 a.m. Saturday she received harassing text messages from different numbers. The woman said she believes the messages are from a 36-year-old ex-boyfriend with an unknown address. The woman filed an harassment restraining order against the man with an unknown address. A report was done for documentation.
• Received a call at 12:26 p.m. Saturday about a missing 32-year-old New Ulm woman. The woman returned home about an hour later. Police found alcohol in the vehicle she returned home in. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a group home at 9:35 p.m. Saturday for a report of a 19-year-old male with a knife who locked himself in his bedroom. Officers calmed the male down and transported him to New Ulm Medical Center for evaluation. A report went to Renville County Human Services.
• Responded to a domestic call on the 600 block, Franklin St. South of two brothers, ages 43 and 34, fighting at 9:10 p.m. Sunday. Both men were injured but denied medical attention. The 43-year-old was arrested and transported to the Brown County Jail. A report for consideration of domestic assault and disorderly conduct charges went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• A 49-year-old Courtland man told police at 12:14 p.m. Monday that someone created a TikTok account in his name. The man said he believes he knows who created the account. A report went to investigators.
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 2:49 p.m. Monday at Washington Street North and 5th Street North. A 2013 Chrysler 300 driven by Alex Hillesheim, 30, New Ulm, was northbound on Washington Street and 5th Street North and collided in the intersection with a westbound 2025 Chevrolet Trax driven by Ana Vera, 28, St. James. Both drivers wore seat belts. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.
