Brown County Sheriff’s Office

• Received a report at 3:22 p.m. Jan. 31 of a catalytic converter stolen from a 2015 Chevy Silverado pickup sometime in the last two weeks on 240th Street, Home Township. A report was done for documentation. A damage estimate was not available.

New Ulm Police

• A 43-year-old Fairmont woman turned herself in at the Brown County Law Enforcement Center at 10:19 a.m. Feb. 1. She was facing a Brown County arrest warrant for failure to appear in court on a failure to appear in court charge for issuance of a dishonored check. A report was done for documentation.

• Performed a welfare check on an 18-year-old New Ulm male at New Ulm High School at 11 a.m. Feb. 1. The student was transported to New Ulm Medical Center and placed on a mental health hold. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Transported a 21-year-old St. Paul male client living on German St. S. to New Ulm Medical Center at 12:10 p.m. Feb. 1. He was placed on mental health hold. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Received a report from a 67-year-old New Ulm woman on the 1100 block Minnesota St. s. at 1:52 p.m. Feb. 1 who said she was scammed out of $37,000 by someone on a dating website. She said the money was removed from her personal savings account to a Las Vegas bank by wire transfer. A report was sent to an investigator.

• Received a two-vehicle crash report without injuries at 11:06 a.m. Feb. 2. Wendy J. Kraus, 63, New Ulm, was driving a 2019 Kia Sportage southbound on Jefferson Street and Paige B. Frederick, 17, New Ulm, was driving a 2022 Honda Civic eastbound on packed snow and ice when the collision occurred. Damage was moderate to the front end of the Honda and very minor to the front passenger’s side of the Kia.
