New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash reported at 11:03 a.m. July 2 at the intersection of North Garden Street and North Highland Avenue. A 2006 Freightliner was driven northbound on Garden Street by David Keith Gravely, 59, New Ulm, when it collided with a 2007 Nissan Murano driven westbound on North Highland by Brenda Jean Boline, 60, Watkins. The Nissan had severe, disabling damage to the rear passenger side and rear end. Damage was minor to the front end of the semi. Both drivers wore seat belts and were not injured.

• Arrested a 28-year-old New Ulm man on a Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant on the 1500 block of Payne Street North at 1:38 a.m. July 3. The man was transported to detox. A report went to Brown County Probation.

• Responded to an ongoing neighborhood dispute on the 600 block, Franklin Street South at 8:36 a.m. July 3. Neighbors were spraying each other with garden hoses and using profanity. A report went to the city attorney’s office for consideration of disorderly conduct charges for 43 and 40-year-old New Ulm men.

• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 16-year-old Brownton male for expired registration at Broadway and Fifth Street North at 10:19 p.m. July 3. A large amount of fireworks were found in the vehicle and seized since nobody was of legal age to have them. The driver said the fireworks were not his. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a report of property being destroyed in a residence on the 1300 block of German Street North at 12:21 a.m. July 4. A 39-year-old Gibbon man left the house before officers arrived. An attempt to locate was made for the man due to his mental health condition and intoxication level. A report went to Nicollet County Probation.

• Responded to the Horizon Wireless store on Westridge Road at 3:25 p.m. July 4. An unidentified man bought four iPhones. He paid $95.38 for one phone and financed the other three phones for $1,210. Verizon received a fraudulent account alert from its financial institution after the man left. A report was done for documentation.

• Stopped a vehicle for poor driving conduct at Minnesota Street and 7th North at 10:53 p.m. July 4. A 42-year-old Hutchinson man was verbally warned for improperly packaged marijuana. A report was done for documentation.

• Responded to a suspicious activity call from a 53-year-old New Ulm woman on the 200 block of Minnesota Street North who said a 72-year-old New Ulm man was leaving notes on her vehicle and driving by her residence many times. A report was done for documentation.

• Cited a 34-year-old Sleepy Eye man for driving after revocation and unlawful use of vehicle plates at 8:28 a.m. at Broadway and 13th Street North at 8:28 a.m. July 6. The vehicle plates were impounded. A report was done for documentation.

• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 27-year-old New Ulm woman with a revoked driver’s license at 11:55 a.m. July 6. The woman became uncooperative before being arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail for obstructing the legal process and driving without a valid license.

Redwood County Sheriff’s Office

• Received two reports of mailbox damage in Sundown and Brookeville Townships at 3:26 p.m. Sunday. It was determined that unknown individuals placed fireworks in mailboxes and lit them before the mailboxes were broken. Anyone with information is asked to call the Redwood County Sheriff’s Office at 507-637-4036.
