New Ulm Police
• Stopped a 32-year-old Sleepy Eye driver for driving with a suspended license at Broadway and 12th St. N. at 3:04 p.m. May 1. Police said the driver had no vehicle insurance and failed to transfer a vehicle title. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charges consideration.
• Received a harassment report from a 45-year-old Redwood Falls man at 301 Water St. N. at 6:31 p.m. May 1. The man said a 48-year-old Springfield man was harassing him. He was advised to apply for a harassment restraining order.
• Stopped an 18-year-New Ulm man for failing to signal a turn at Franklin St. N. at 1st St. N. at 7:37 p.m. May 1. Police smelled marijuana, searched the vehicle and found marijuana edibles and drug paraphernalia including two grinders. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
• Responded to a single-vehicle crash with no reported injury on Westridge Road in front of Wal-Mart Supercenter at 2:05 p.m. May 2. A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Matthew L. Ketelsen, 40, Lakeville, said a bee flew into his vehicle while exiting the Wal-Mart parking lot, causing him to collide with a light pole. Damage was moderate to disabling to the front passenger side of the truck.
