NEW ULM — Scaffolding went up in front of The Grand and New Ulm’s Own this week in preparation for repairs to The Grand’s facade.
In March, The Grand started masonry and other repairs on the back of the building. Plans were to paint the front exterior, but upon closer examination water damage was found above the third-floor window in the corner of the building.
The front repair work will be done with a crane. The scaffolding was put in place for pedestrian safety. The public can walk under the scaffolds and the front entrance to The Grand and New Ulm’s Own will remain open during the repairs.
