BLUE EARTH COUNTY — A 43-year-old Shakopee man with an outstanding Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant stemming from a 2022 Blue Earth County drug conviction was arrested after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase that ended in a Mankato crash Tuesday.

Minnesota River Valley Drug Task Force agents and Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office deputies located Brandon Michael Hall driving a 2020 gray Ford Edge and tried to box him in to prevent pursuit at State Highway 68 and County Road 11, according to a Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office media release. Hall fled, his vehicle striking one of the agent’s squad vehicles and avoiding stop sticks near Minneopa State Park.

The pursuit continued eastbound on Highway 68, reaching speeds over 100 mph, then continued north onto Highway 169. Hall’s vehicle sideswiped a civilian’s vehicle as he drove around it on the shoulder of the on ramp to Highway 14 eastbound, according to the release.

Hall’s vehicle struck a 2018 Ford Fusion on Highway 14, causing it to collide with an unoccupied Mankato squad vehicle on the road side. An officer deployed stop sticks but the collision disabled Hall’s vehicle, according to the media release.

Eventually, Hall’s vehicle began to smoke. He exited the car with a large knife and fled on foot on the road shoulder before Hall was taken into custody after a taser was deployed, according to the release.

Hall was taken to Mayo Clinic Health System Mankato with non-life threatening injuries before he was transported to the Blue Earth County Jail to be held on multiple charges related to the pursuit. Two Mankato officers were treated for minor injuries and released.

The Ford Fusion driver, Daniel Patrick Hendley, 47, Mankato, was transported to MCHS Mankato for minor injuries. He was released later that night, according to the release.
