GIBBON — The Essig Bluejays downed the Gibbon Reds 9-1 on Monday in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
Hunter Sehr led the Bluejays at the plate, going 2 for 5 with two RBIs and two runs scored, while Jay Helget was 2 for 5 and Mason Sellner was 2 for 6 with two runs scored. Sehr also got the win on the mound in seven innings, allowing three hits and a walk for one run while striking out four.
Nolan Huiras took the loss on the mound in five innings, allowing six hits and a walk for two earned run while striking out seven. Jason Berger led the Red at the plate, going 2 for 3 with a homer, while Drew Schwarzrock was 2 for 4.

SPRINGFIELD — The Springfield Tigers defeated the Leavenworth Orioles 3-2 on Saturday in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game.
Jacob Poehler led the Tigers at the plate, going 2 for 4 with two RBIs and a double. Jordan Milbrath got the win in two scoreless innings of relief, walking four without allowing a hit. He struck out one.
Leavenworth was led by Jacob Schwartz, who was 3 for 4 with a double, a homer and two RBIs. Dylan Hillesheim took the loss in 4 2/3 innings of relief, allowing five hits and three walks for one earned run while fanning three.
