Larson scores 4, Eagles down White Hawks on Saturday

MOUND — Kaden Larson’s four-goal night on Saturday helped the New Ulm Eagles cruise past Mound Westonka 6-1 in a nonconference boys hockey game.

Bryer Lang was first on the board for New Ulm at 4:04 into the first period on an assist by Austin Uecker. Mound Westonka tied it up around the 12-minute mark of the first on a goal from August Novack.

Larson then scored a natural hat trick with three goals in the second period. Uecker had an assists on each of those goals. Brody Wenner had an assist on Larson’s second goal of the period, while Wesley Grob had one on Larson’s third of the period.

Ian Brudelie put the Eagles up with a goal a the 4:11 mark of the third period on an assist by Nick Zins before Larson scored his fourth goal of the night at the 6:12 mark of the third on an assist by Lang.

The Eagles outshot the White Hawks 50-19. New Ulm was 0 for 3 on the power play, while Mound Westonka was 0 for 1.

Bryer Hoffmann saved 18 shots in net for New Ulm, now 19-2-1 overall. The Eagles host Litchfield/Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday night.
