Brewers bash Lamberton for 19 hits, 19 runs

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Brewers pounded out 19 hits and 19 runs as they downed the Lamberton Long Sox 19-1 Tuesday night in a Tomahawk League game at Johnson Park.
The game was stopped after 6 1/2 innings because of the 10-run lead rule.
Tate Becker got the win for New Ulm, now 10-1 in TEL play.
Becker struck out 10 in four innings of work and allowed two hits — both of them in the first inning and no runs.
Blaine Olson pitched the final three innings and allowed one run while fanning two.
Quintyn Vold took the loss for Lamberton (6-5), allowing 13 runs in three innings.
Becker and Jace Schaefer each had three hits for the Brewers. Becker and Justin Hoffmann each had a two-run homer.
Lucas Suess, Cole Ranweiler, Sam Keckeisen and Noel Davila each had two hits for the BrewCrew.
Hoffmann and Becker each had three RBIs.
Noel Eichten had the lone RBI with a solo home run off of Olson in the fifth.
The Brewers, who host Stark on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Johnson Park in an exhibition game, scored four runs in the bottom of the first on a Ranweiler RBI double, a run-scoring single from Keckeisen and a two-run home run to right by Becker.
The Brewers added two more runs in the second on run-scoring singles from Ranweiler and Keckeisen before sending 12 men to the plate in the third and scoring eight runs on seven hits, capped off by Hoffmann’s two-run blast over the fence in right-center.
Four more runs came across in the fourth on two hits, with one of them being a Becker double for an 18-0 lead.
Eichten’s solo shot in the top of the fifth made it 18-1 before the Brewers capped off their scoring for the night in the bottom of the fifth on a Corey Schaefer single.
