SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s earned a guaranteed share of the Tomahawk Conference title on Tuesday after sweeping Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop 25-17, 25-17, 25-17.
The Knights will be sole conference champions if Sleepy Eye defeats New Ulm Cathedral on Thursday.
Leading the Knights on Tuesday was Bella Hoffmann, who had 18 set assists, 10 digs and seven kills, while Allie Labat had 18 set assists, 14 digs and six kills. Jaci Domeier had 12 kills, nine digs and four aces also for St. Mary’s, while Jenica Schroepfer had four kills and two blocks and Amelia Schwartz had three kills and two blocks.
GFW was led by Taylor Schafer’s 13 kills, while Brynn Busse had six kills, 13 set assists and nine digs. Katelyn Beranek added 11 set assists for GFW, while Taylor Haas had 14 digs and Trinity Spears had three blocks.
The Knights (18-4, 7-1) are at Minnesota Valley Lutheran on Thursday night for a nonconference match, while GFW hosts BOLD on Monday.
Springfield 3, MVL 1
SPRINGFIELD — Springfield topped Minnesota Valley Lutheran 21-25, 26-24, 25-16, 25-18 on Tuesday in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match.
The Tigers were led by Brooklyn Sturm’s 17 kills, eight digs, two blocks and two ace serves, while Jalivia Richert had nine kills and McKenna Granda had eight kills. Maddy Digmann added 22 digs for Springfield, while Jaeli Richert had 37 set assists, nine digs and three kills.
The Chargers were led by Ava Munsen’s 10 kills, 11 digs, four blocks and four ace serves, while Gabbie Bleick had seven kills and 15 digs and Becca Kuck had five kills. Ella Hunter had 16 digs also for MVL, while Kerigan Brau had 25 set assists.
MVL hosts Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s on Thursday, while Springfield hosts Windom on Monday night.

HECTOR — Sleepy Eye swept Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart on Tuesday night in a Tomahawk Conference volleyball match, winning 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.
Kadence Hesse led Sleepy Eye with 14 kills, 23 digs, four blocks and two ace serves, while Breaunna Mertz added seven kills, 23 digs and two aces. Brooke Arneson had 20 set assists and 21 digs for Sleepy Eye also, while Paige Haala had 14 digs and seven set assists and Sam Price had seven kills.
Sleepy Eye is at New Ulm Cathedral on Thursday for a conference match.

TRUMAN — Martin Luther/Granada-Huntley-East Chain/Truman topped Nicollet 19-25, 25-20, 25-19, 25-22 on Tuesday in a Valley Conference volleyball match.
Shannon Soost led the Raiders with 15 kills, 11 digs and two blocks, while Brooklyn Bode had nine kills and two blocks. Ambria Hoffman had 12 digs also for Nicollet, while Mia Lambrecht had 13 set assists.
Nicollet travels to take on New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva on Monday.
Cleveland 3, Madelia 0
CLEVELAND — Cleveland swept Madelia 25-20, 25-14, 25-12 on Tuesday night in Valley Conference volleyball action.
Brooke Lensing led the Blackhawks with nine kills and seven digs, while Ashlynn Sweet had five kills and Ashley Sorenson had 18 set assists and nine digs.
Madelia (13-14, 5-3) plays Edgerton next on Tuesday.

New Ulm 1
WORTHINGTON — Top-seeded Worthington downed eighth-seeded New Ulm 6-1 on Tuesday in a Section 2AA boys soccer playoff game.
New Ulm goalie Ethan Goff made 17 saves in the loss, while Brennan Shaver scored New Ulm’s lone goal. New Ulm had eight shots on goal.
Worthington moves on to play fourth-seeded Mankato East on Thursday night in Worthington.

New Ulm 0
MANKATO — Second-seeded Mankato West shut out seventh-seeded New Ulm 7-0 on Tuesday night in a Section 2AA girls soccer playoff game at the Caswell North Soccer Complex.
No stats were reported.
Mankato West moves on to host third-seeded St. Peter on Thursday night.
PREP CROSS-COUNTRY
Springfield girls take 7th in Adrian
ADRIAN — The Springfield/Cedar Mountain girls cross-country team finished seventh at a cross-country meet in Adrian on Tuesday.
The Springfield/CM boys took eighth at the event.
Leading the Springfield/CM girls was Katie Thram, who took eighth with a time of 22:20. Emmie McCone finished 17th for the Springfield/CM girls (23:46).
Leading the Springfield/CM boys was Ben Potter, who took 27th (19:58), while Matthew Groebner took 29th (20:08).
