PIPESTONE — New Ulm improved to 3-0 with a Big South Conference victory over Pipestone on Saturday.

Zander Fischer led New Ulm with 26 points and Charles Osborne finished with 25 points. Jimmy Osborne scored 13 points and Colton Benson scored 10 points.

New Ulm hosts Blue Earth Area on Friday.

St. Mary’s 84, RRC 36

SLEEPY EYE — Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s got 43 points from Trent Steffensmeier as the Knights won the nonconference basketball game on Saturday over Red Rock Central.

Steffensmeier also had five steals and three assists and Kaleb Wait had 13 points and eight assists.

Girls’ basketball

GSL 67, MVL 54

GLENCOE — Glencoe-Silver Lake defeated Minnesota Valley Lutheran in a nonconference girls’ basketball game on Saturday night.

Abbie Riederer scored 19 points and had five assists for MVL. Kaylee Hunter had 12 points and five rebounds and Ella Schlei had 8 points for the Chargers.

MVL is at Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthop on Monday.
