The Gators took a one-run lead in the bottom of the fourth after Lauren Kvien singled with the bases loaded to score Erika Howell, who walked earlier with one out.

An error moved Burslie up to second while Kvien stole home for a 6-0 Gator lead.
Springfield didn’t go down easy, though, and put together a four-hit, three-run top of the fifth. Jaelie Richert led of the inning with a single before Maddy Digmann walked. Brooklyn Sturm then singled to fill the bases, and Jalivia Richert brought her sister home from third on a single up the middle to cut the deficit to five.
