ESSIG — Essig defeated Leavenworth 14-7 on Sunday in the loser’s bracket of the Region 2C amateur baseball playoffs.

The loss eliminated Leavenworth from the 2C playoffs.

For Essig, Erich Prokosch was 4 for 5 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kyle Helget was 3 for 4 with two runs scored and Terry Helget was 2 for 3 with two runs scored.

Zach Mickelson and Billy Cook were each 2 for 5 for the Orioles. Nic Helget was 2 for 2 with a run scored.

Mickelson allowed two runs and took the loss. He didn’t record an out.

Nolan Drill pitched six innings and struck out six to earn the win.
