Support Rep. Hagedorn

To the editor:

I write in support of Rep. Jim Hagedorn, a steady hand in these troubled times. Jim has not missed being in Washington D.C., attending every vote on legislation before Congress. The work of the 1st District is too important to not be there as Nancy Pelosi advocates remote voting. We hired Jim by our vote to do a job and he is there and will continue to do so.

Jim serves on the House Committee on Agriculture and Small Business Committee. He has visited all 21 counties of the 1st District, listening to their needs and promoting their causes in the committees he serves. He also watches closely all other legislation that comes before Congress.

Jim is a native of southern Minnesota, a devout Christian, reflecting their values, such as prolife, pro-2nd amendment, the needs of agriculture and small business.

Jim’s opponent is handpicked by Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Ilhan Omar, with tons of outside money that doesn’t reflect or know southern Minnesota. His opponent never lived in the present 1st District until July of 2017. Who would want our values disrupted by someone that would follow lockstep with Pelosi and Company?

Recently, Jim introduced the Direct Pork Assistance Packaging Act that will provide $5 billion to help the pork industry. He also introduced legislation to help the pork producers that had to euthanize their market ready hogs.

He has helped small business. He has worked bi-partisan to help rural health care affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. He has promoted rural broadband, has supported the four-lane expansion of Hwy. 14 near New Ulm. He has voted to end the ACA, better known as Obamacare and to make sure that pre-existing conditions are covered. The cost of ACA has devastated the American Citizen with premiums and deductibles reaching $25,000 and more. The ACA was a lie, perpetrated by the Obama administration and behind the scenes they knew it would happen ahead of it’s passage. As Nancy Pelosi stated, “We have to pass it to find out what’s in it.” How ignorant!!

I would ask the voters of the 1st District to look at Jim’s hard work ethic, spending his time representing them, and I urge you to vote Hagedorn in November!
