Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a stolen vehicle report near the Evan elevator at 8:23 pm. June 2. A red Chevy Silverado pickup with keys in the ignition was reported stolen. The vehicle with three juveniles was later pulled over in Redwood County by authorities. No damage or injuries were reported. Formal charges are pending investigation.

New Ulm Police

• Responded to a suspicious activity report at Smiley’s Tavern at 3:15 a.m. June 4. Police said a Touch Tones jukebox and bottle of Grey Goose vodka were stolen. A 54-year-old Red Wing man is a suspect, according to surveillance video. Value of the stolen items is unknown. The theft is under investigation.

• Responded to New Ulm High School at 11:08 a.m. June 5 after a 16-year-old male summer school student was found to have possession of an EDD (vaping device) that tested positive for THC.

• Received a online scam/fraud report at 3 p.m. June 2 regarding a 52-year-old Dassel man who said he lost two weeks pay after pay data was changed. Police are investigating.

• Responded to a call from Walgreen’s, 608 N. Broadway at 3:45 p.m. June 2. A 33-year-old New Ulm man was issued a trespass letter after he reportedly wanted to buy hypodermic syringes and acted suspicious including threatening a pharmacist.

• Received a vandalism report at 1:17 p.m. June 3 regarding a broken glass pane at the Marktplatz Mall. Police contacted a mall owner who said he was aware of it. A damage estimate was not available.
