New Ulm Police

• Dispatched to the Riverbend Area Learning Center, at 2:21 p.m. Jan. 18 at 1315 S. Broadway where a 16-year-old New Ulm male was found with an electronic vaping device in class. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office for consideration of a charge of possession of an electronic smoking device on school grounds.

• Received a call from a passerby about a seven-year-old child found at 3rd North St. \and North State Street at 3:44 p.m. Jan. 18. The child told police his parents were out and his daycare was closed. Police located his parents. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Responded to an assault report at 6:29 p.m. Jan. 18, 2022 at 1311 German St. N. A 29-year-old New Ulm man told police his 49-year-old mother-in-law from Coon Rapids hit him in the face. He did not seek medical attention and police did not see any marks on him. Reports were sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office, Brown County Human Services and Brown County Probation.
