Brown County Sheriff

• Received a dog bite complaint at 401 Summit Ave., Hanska at 4:26 p.m. May 24. Police gave a verbal warning to a woman whose unleashed yellow Labrador allegedly bit a leashed Schnauzer dog. Both dog owners said their dogs had up to date shots. Police will verify dog shots.

New Ulm Police

• Responded to a civil dispute at 4:18 p.m. May 24 at 308 Front St. S. between a 23-year-old New Ulm woman and a 24-year-old New Ulm man who have a three month-old child in common. Nobody was reported hurt and no damage was reported. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Responded to animal complaints at 906 German St. S. at 7:16 p.m. May 24. An individual said they walked by the residence with a leashed dog that was attacked by a Rottweiler dog. No injuries were reported. Animal control was advised of the report.

• Received a report at 1:23 p.m. May 25 from a 42-year-old New Ulm woman who said she tried to buy a gun part at Running’s of New Ulm, 2107 Garden St. N. but the rifle company refused shipment, claiming a false name was provided. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.

• Stopped a vehicle driven by a 33-year-old Mankato man for expired tabs at 2523 Bridge St. S. at 2:08 p.m. May 25. Police later learned the vehicle owned by a 55-year-old Mankato woman had no insurance and a driver’s license was revoked. A report was sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Received a report of a juvenile with a vaping device at New Ulm High School at 10:49 a.m. May 20. The device was confiscated and school sanctions were imposed. A report sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

• Received a theft report of a catalytic convert sometime over the weekend from a vehicle parked outside at 16 German St. N. Estimated loss was not available. A report was done for documentation.

• Received information regarding juveniles vaping at Lincoln Park, 718 State St. S. at 10:59 a.m. May 24. A report will go to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.

Sibley County Sheriff

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without report injuries at 3:30 p.m., May 22 near 330th Street and TH 15, four miles northeast of Lafayette. A 2009 Buick Lacrosse driven by Whitney Morales, 35, Gaylord, collided with the back of a Ford F250 pulling a farm implement, driven by Matthew Brinkman, 22, Glencoe. The Nicollet County Sherff’s Office, Winthrop Police, Lafayette Ambulance and Fire Departments assisted.

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash two miles mile of Gaylord near the intersection of 511th Avenue and 256th Street, May 20. A 2006 International semi-tractor without trailer was driven by Jay Squibb, 47, Buffalo Lake, when he lost control, left the road and onto an adjacent farm field. The truck sheared off a power pole owned by McLeod Cooperative Power. Squibb did not require medical treatment. The semi was owned by Kottke Trucking Corp. Buffalo Lake. Driver inattention and distraction was a contributing factor to the crash.

McLeod County Sheriff

• Responded to a disturbance on 120th Street northwest of Brownton at 7:46 p.m. May 21. Cole Mathwig, 18, was arrested for probable cause DWI and transported to the McLeod County Jail, Glencoe. Deputies cleared with reports.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash near Jefferson Road and Airport Road, Hutchinson at 9:43 p.m. May 23. A 2009 GMC Yukon owned and driven by Jason Voigt, 48, Green Isle collided with a 2004 Chevrolet Impala owned by Katie Finch, Glencoe, driven by Nicholas Best, 38, Brownton. Best was transported to Hutchinson Hospital with minor injuries.
