New Ulm Police
• Received a call at 4:13 p.m. Friday from a resident about fireworks and explosives in the 1100 block of South Jefferson Street. Police interviewed juveniles and leads on suspicious vehicles in the area were followed up on. An investigation continues.
• Received a report at 5:30 p.m. Friday of a 27-year-old New Ulm woman who posted suicidal thoughts on a Snapchat story. Officers contacted the woman who agreed to be transported via ambulance to New Ulm Medical Center. A report was done for documentation.
• Received an active theft report at Traulich Estates at 9:33 p.m. Friday. An individual was seen entering a mobile home and leaving with an air conditioner. Police talked with four New Ulm individuals who said the mobile home was abandoned and didn’t think it was a crime to take an air conditioner. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for theft and possession of stolen property charge consideration.
• Stopped a vehicle driven by an individual known to not possess a valid driver’s license at 11:17 p.m. at Broadway and 13th Street South. A 25-year-old New Ulm man was cited for driving after revocation. A report was done for documentation.
• Received a report of a domestic occurring at 1:33 a.m. Saturday on the 800 block of Valley Street North. Officers arrived and were told by a 35-year old New Ulm woman that she was choked and had visible signs around her neck. She did not seek medical attention. The suspect, a 36-year-old New Ulm man, left before police arrived. He was contacted by phone but said he would not turn himself in. An attempt to locate was issued for the man’s arrest. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Responded to a domestic report at 4:23 a.m. Saturday at New Ulm Mobile Village. A 52-year-old New Ulm woman said her boyfriend, a 37-year-old New Ulm man, was intoxicated and made threats, but she did not want him going to jail or detox. The woman left the residence on foot voluntarily after refusing to provide any more information. Reports went to Blue Earth and Brown County Probation.
• Spoke with a 27-year-old New Ulm woman Saturday who said she was sexually assaulted by her ex-boyfriend, a 31-year-old New Ulm man at her residence. The suspect said it was not the first time the woman made false accusations against him. The report is under investigation.
• A 33-year-old homeless man entered the Brown County Law Enforcement Center (LEC) at 11:17 p.m. Sunday and turned himself in for assaulting a 34-year-old Pipestone woman in the LEC parking lot a short time earlier. The man was arrested and taken to the Brown County Jail and cited for domestic assault. The woman did not report any injuries and did not seek medical attention. A report went to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
