TEL roundup: Knowles homer leads Lakers over Grizzlies

HANSKA — The Hanska Lakers defeated the Searles Grizzlies 5-4 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
Hanska’s Chris Knowles hit a solo home run in the seventh inning to break a 4-4 tie and give the Lakers the win.
Colin Anderson got the win for the Lakers, striking out five and allowing no runs on no hits and two walks in three innings. Sam Knowles made the start, striking out four and allowing four runs, two earned, on 11 hits in six innings. At the plate, Chris Knowles was 3 for 3 with a home run, while Brady Mortenson and Saywer Olson each had a home run.
Graham Glaser took the loss for Searles, allowing one run on one hit in two innings. Grant Bruns made the start, striking out four and allowing four runs, three earned, on five hits in 5 1/3 innings. At the plate, Kasey Kuck was 2 for 4 with two RBIs, while Tony Geiger was 2 for 4 with two runs scored. Glaser had two hits and an RBI, and Collin Helget had two hits.
Hanska (11-2) plays at Sleepy Eye on Sunday, while Searles (5-8) plays at Gibbon on Sunday.

ESSIG — The New Ulm Brewers defeated the Essig Bluejays 8-0 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
Sam Keckeisen earned the win for New Ulm, striking out seven and allowing no runs on two hits. Al Flor pitched three innings, striking out one and allowing no runs on three hits. At the plate, Luke Suess was 3 for 5 with an RBI, while Justin Hoffmann was 4 for 5 with an RBI. Colton Schaefer was 2 for 5 with an RBI.
Colin Forstner took the loss for Essig, striking out five and allowing two runs on eight hits in five innings. At the plate, Forstner was 2 for 4.
New Ulm (12-1) hosts Fairmont in a non-league game on Friday, while Essig (3-11) plays at Lamberton on Sunday.
COURTLAND 14, FAIRFAX 3 (7 INNINGS)
FAIRFAX — The Courtland Cubs rolled the Fairfax Cardinals 14-3 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
Andrew Peters earned the win for Courtland, striking out three and allowing three runs on five hits in four innings. Tegan Kamm pitched three innings, striking out one and allowing no runs on two hits. At the plate, Nik Johnson was 2 for 5 with three RBIs, while Carter Lang was 2 for 3 with two runs scored. Evan Wiltscheck had a hit and two RBIs.
Tyler Fish took the loss for Fairfax, allowing 10 runs on 10 hits in two innings. At the plate, Anders Herrera had two hits and an RBI, while Luke Bastian had two hits.
Courtland (12-2) hosts Gibbon on Wednesday, while Fairfax (2-12) plays a non-league game at Wabasso on Sunday.

LEAVENWORTH — The Leavenworth Orioles defeated the Gibbon Reds 11-3 in a Tomahawk East League amateur baseball game on Wednesday.
