NUMC adds family medicine nurse practitioner

NEW ULM — New Ulm Medical Center announces that Michelle Evans, APRN, CNP, has joined the New Ulm Medical Center Clinic staff as a family practice provider. She will see patients in the Walk-in (Urgent Care) clinic.

Evans is an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Certified Nurse Practitioner. She has practiced as an APRN/CNP for two years after having practiced as a registered nurse for 16 years.

“I became a nurse practitioner two years ago but I was a nurse for 16 years prior to that,” Evans said. “I knew it was the career for me, when I realized I could do more with more education.”

Evans says a challenge in her work that she finds particularly rewarding is educating people so that they can finally understand the why behind the treatment for their illness rather than just doing what they are told.

Berg named Rising Star Attorney

NEW ULM – Attorney Jeremy M. Berg of Blethen Berens, has again been named a “Rising Star” Attorney by Super Lawyers magazine.

Berg is a partner at the New Ulm office of Blethen Berens. He focuses his practice on the areas of estate and trust planning and administration, elderlaw, real estate transactions, business, and agricultural law. Berg is also licensed title insurance agent and is a member of the firms management committee.

The “Rising Star” distinction is determined based on a statewide nomination process, attorney resume review, peer evaluation and independent research on the candidate. Only 2.5 percent of attorneys in the state are named to the list.
