Citizen Bank Senior Vice President Julie Baumgartner to retire

After nearly 32 years, Julie Baumgartner, Senior Vice President/Chief Operations Officer, of Citizens Bank Minnesota, will retire on Monday, July 3, 2023.

Baumgartner joined Citizens in 1991 as a Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer and was later promoted to Senior Vice President in 2015. She was most recently promoted to SVP/Chief Operations Officer in 2019. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from Kansas State University with a B.S. degree in Finance as well as a B.A. in Spanish. She is also a graduate of the Commercial Lending School at the University of Oklahoma and the Graduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Outside of Citizens, Baumgartner has served the community in many roles through involvement with New Ulm Business Resource and Innovation Center, New Ulm Area Foundation, Oak Hills Living Center, Rotary, New Ulm Business and Industry Council, New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, SCORE, Sioux Valley Hospital Board of Governors, New Ulm Retail Association, Wanda Gag House Association, New Ulm Area Youth Soccer Association, NUSE Hockey Association, Heritagefest Budget Committee, St. Paul’s Lutheran School, Minnesota Valley Lutheran High School, Martin Luther College Mission Advancement Advisory Team and Brown County Bankers.

Other accomplishments include serving on the Minnesota Bankers Association’s Government Relations Committee, Convention Planning Committee and Commercial/Retail Committee; Southeast Minnesota Initiative Fund Loan Committee, and Region IX Advisory Committee.

An Open House will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 from 4:00 – 5:30 p.m. at Black Frost Distillery in New Ulm. All friends, clients and well-wishers are welcome. Citizens would like to thank Julie for her dedicated service throughout the years. Julie and her husband, Bill, will continue to reside in Courtland after her retirement.
