BCSO issues burning restrictions
BROWN COUNTY — The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and fire chiefs issued burning restrictions effective at 9 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 16 until further notice for all of Brown County.
No open burning of CRP land and/or ditches or brush piles is permitted.
Recreational campfires are permitted but must be contained in a ring of rock, cement, brick, or metal and must not be closer than 25 feet to any structure and must be attended to.
Charcoal grills, wood smokers, and propane or natural gas devices are not considered open burning.
Brown County is in a wind advisory in effect from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. CST Thursday, Nov. 16. Southwest winds 25 to 35 mph with gusts to 45 mph are expected in parts of central, east central, south central, southeast, southwest and west central Minnesota. Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down. Power outages may result.
