Library to open with limited hours on June 15
NEW ULM — Library patrons are once again able to browse the New Ulm Public Library’s collection starting today. The library is officially reopening with limited hours.
The library’s new hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Fridays. Patrons are asked to enter the library through the southwest entrance — nearest the outdoor book drop — and follow the one-way path through the library’s entrance and around the service desk. Books should be returned inside during business hours or in the outdoor book drop on Mondays and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Library visitors are welcome to browse the collection, check out items, pick up holds, ask reference questions or apply for a library card. Library users are asked to wear a mask, limit visits to 15 minutes, keep a distance of six feet with other patrons, and send only one family member.
Computers are available for one-hour appointments. Library staff will disinfect public computers after each use and frequently disinfect the service desk area and door handles. All other areas of the library are use-at-your-own-risk, including the public restrooms.
The library has not sent back any of the items placed on hold before or during our closure. Any held items will remain available for pick up through Friday, June 26, and then the hold period will revert back to the normal ten days from when the item arrived at NUPL.
Items can be still checked out from the library’s digital collections by visiting www.newulmlibrary.org and clicking on Overdrive, MNKnows or Ancestry Library Edition. Contactless pick up by appointment will continue indefinitely.
