Court Proceedings
Brown County District Court
• Two misdemeanor domestic assault and disorderly conduct charges were filed Oct. 31, 2022 against Pedro Infante III, 22, 502 W. Lincoln St., Springfield.
According to court documents, Springfield Police Officer Carter Cook was dispatched to 502 W. Lincoln St. at 8:21 a.m. Oct. 28, 2022 for a domestic in progress with pushing and shoving.
At the scene, officer Cook was met by a 40-year-old woman who said her daughter, a 19-year-old woman, and her boyfriend got into an argument and shoving began. The mother tried to separate the couple and called 911.
When officer Cook went upstairs to investigate, Infante was taking all his girlfriend’s belongings from the apartment and piling them together and told her he wants her out of the apartment.
“Yeah, I slapped her. My bad. She deserved it,” Infante said to officer Cook.
Yelling continued until Springfield Police Chief John Nicholson arrived and he and officer Cook separated the victim and Infante.
The victim told officer Cook that Infante became angry after he messaged her earlier in the day and she didn’t respond right away. She said he said their relationship was over and he began to move her things, despite her telling him not to touch them, then he slapped her in the face. The victim said she was in fear at the time and was afraid to leave. Officer Cook could not see any markings on the victim’s face.
• Gross misdemeanor 3rd-degree DWI-refuse to submit to chemical test, misdemeanor 4th-degree DWI and misdemeanor obstruct legal process-interfere with peace officer charges were filed Oct. 31, 2022 against Dara J. Nadolsky, 41, Waseca.
According to court documents, Minnesota State Patrol Trooper Brennon Brase overheard Brown County Dispatch air a driving complaint of a red SUV westbound on TH 68 at 10:50 p.m. Oct. 30, 2022. The caller said the vehicle was all over the road, possibly a drunk driver.
Trooper Brase saw the suspect vehicle westbound with the caller behind it. The vehicle turned south on TH 15. He got behind the suspect vehicle and saw it cross the center yellow line twice and he did a traffic stop.
He identified the driver as Dara J. Nadolsky and noticed intoxication clues. New Ulm Patrolman Erik Byro arrived to help. After resisting for a time, Nadolsky was cuffed and arrested. Trooper Brase saw a small, empty vodka bottle in the driver’s door.
At the Brown County Jail, Nadolsky refused to take a breath test, then agreed, but gave two deficient breath tests that read .25 blood alcohol content. She was taken to Brown County detox.
