Peace Rally planned on Oct. 15

NEW ULM — A peace rally is being planned in New Ulm for Thursday, Oct. 15, 7 to 7:30 p.m., according to organizer Susan Kimmel.

The rally will be held along Broadway, beginning at Center and Broadway.

Participants are requested to wear a face mask and stand six feet apart, holding candles.

Chalk markings (peace signs) placed on the sidewalk will indicate where to stand.

Bring a mask, candle, and chair if you like. This is a family friendly event.

Turner Hall Bake Sale coming up

NEW ULM — Due to overwhelming response, the Turner Ladies are planning another Bake Sale for Saturday, Oct. 24. Sales by pre-order only.

Place orders between Oct. 10 and Oct. 20 by calling one of the following numbers: Jeanne – 507-276-4541 or Ruth – 507-766-3239

Order early to be assured of getting the items you want; and please leave your name and phone number, as they may be taking an order. Your call will be returned.

All baked goods are prepared in the Turner Hall kitchen, 102 S. State St.

The available items for purchase are: Schmearkuchen – $10 each; Sauerkraut & German Potato Salad – Pints @ $4 and Quarts @ $8; Half Apple Strudel – $5; Homemade Bread – $6; Four Cinnamon Rolls – $5; Landjaegers- 6/$8
