GIBBON--Donald William Ohland, 100, of Gibbon, MN, died Monday, September 28, 2026 at The Lodge of Winthrop in Winthrop, MN.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gibbon with Pastor Steven Bauer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Donald was born August 17, 1926 in Gibbon, MN, the son of Arthur and Lydia (Kramer) Ohland. Don was baptized and confirmed in faith at Immanuel Lutheran Church. He married Melda (Brei) Ohland on August 17, 1958 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church in New Ulm, MN. The couple created their home on the Ohland family farm in Gibbon, MN, where Donald proudly lived his entire life.
Don served in the United States Army from 1954 to 1956. He then worked on his farm for decades raising both animals and crops. He was a devoted husband and farmer, and a man with strong faith in Jesus as his Savior. Don enjoyed restoring tractors, woodworking, and gardening.
Donald is survived by his sisters, Arlys Buch and Karon (Darrell) Jahn; as well as nine nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by his wife, Melda; parents, Arthur & Lydia Ohland; sister, Joan (Ohland) Pinske; brother-in-law, Loren Pinske; and brother-in-law, Marcus Buch.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Gibbon, Prairie Lutheran Schools or Martin Luther College.
