MAGA lost the meaning of Christianity

2 min read

I have waited a few days for my excitement on the election results to subside prior to commenting on what took place. Let's start by affirming that I am a U.S. Navy retiree, I am a patriot, I deeply love my country and none of these things are mutually exclusive to one political party or ideology. For the past few years some people within the Republican Party attempted to make people believe that you could not be patriotic, love your country, or be Christian unless you were a Republican. Nothing could be further from the truth.

In my view what occurred across the country was a fierce rejection of the politics of division, of hate, of racism, and of fear. Voices across the Nations shouted that we are all equal. A record number of women, of Latina's, of Black's, and of Native American's were voted into office. This was a forceful rebuke of Donald Trump, MAGA followers, and their beliefs. Now it is time for those just elected to not only hold this administration accountable for the laws they have ignored and broken but to repair the incredible damage done to this Nation and our standing in the World community.

I have seen a few things online the last few days by those on the other side of the political spectrum than me questioning the election results and if there was a place left for Christians in this nation. Those are ridiculous assertions as looking at a map and seeing more red than blue only shows that dirt does not vote, people vote, and there are way more people in those blue areas. As for Christians having a place, they always have as massive amounts of Democrats are also Christian. I will end with this: Christianity is about helping your fellow man and controlling yourself; When it becomes controlling others and helping yourself it is no longer Christianity.
