Brewers win Region 2C title

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Brewers pounded out 19 hits in seven innings as they won the Region 2C amateur baseball title with a 17-6 win over Stark Sunday afternoon at Johnson Park.
The game was stopped after 6 1/2 innings because of the 10-run lead rule.
Wade French got the win for New Ulm. He went four innings and allowing six runs on seven hits.
Nick Labat took the loss for the Longhorns, allowing 12 runs in three innings.
Hunter Ranweiler led the Brewers with five hits while Judd Davis and Andrew Peters each added three hits. Hunter Ranweiler drove in three runs.

Zach Haala had two hits for Stark.
After the game, the Brewers selected pitchers Nick Altermatt from Lamberton and pitchers Teddy Giefer and Cole Backer from Courtland.
Stark chose pitchers Jevan Richert from Leavenworth, Scott Palmer from Fairfax and Avery Stevens from Essig.
Hanska chose Mark Schommer from Searles, Mason Leonard from Springfield and Alan Woitas from Sleepy Eye.
The Brewers fell behind 1-0 in the top of the first before sending 11 men to the plate and scoring seven runs.
Davis singled and scored on a J.T. Hoffmann triple. Hoffmann later scored on a Hunter Ranweiler double. A Cole Ranweiler RBI single made it 3-1 before a Josh Seidl groundout added a run. Peters singled and later scored on a Colton Schaefer single. A Braden Zimmerman single and a Davis two-run triple — the eighth hit of the inning for the Brewers — made it 7-1.
Stark scored three runs in the second before New Um added two more in the bottom of the inning and then added three more in the third on a Hunter Ranweiler single, a groundout and a wild pitch.
Stark added two more runs in the fourth before the Brewers scored five runs in the fifth.
The big hit in that inning was a two-run double from Peters.
New Ulm outhit Stark 19-8 in the game.
Stark got to the title game with a 7-4 win over Hanska earlier in the day.
Haala got the win for the Longhorns with Branson Peterson taking the loss for Hanska.
Brandon Helget had three hits for Stark.
Chris Knowles and Gabe Knowles each had two hits for the Lakers.
