Office of Minnesota Secretary of State Speaking on Voter 101
New Ulm – Turner Hall, the League of Women Voters New Ulm and the New Ulm Public Library are joining to offering an informational meeting on voting called Voter 1010.
Voter 101 is a Turner Talk presentation featuring Melanie Hazelip, Voter Outreach Director with the Office of Minnesota Secretary of State. It will be held Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Turner Hall.
The presentation starts at 5pm with a social, followed by Hazelip’s presentation from 5:30pm – 6:30pm including a Q and A. Beer and soft drinks are provided by Turner Hall, and snacks are provided by the League of Women Voters New Ulm.

Hazelip will discuss Minnesota voting and election procedures, voter law changes made over the last few years, and steps that ensure safe, secure and fair elections. As the Voter Outreach Director for the Office of the Minnesota Secretary of State, Hazelip, St. Paul, is speaking throughout the state on the Voter 101 program. She has done voter and civic engagement work since 2016 in a variety of capacities. In her work she tries to make voting accessible to all eligible Minnesotans.
The League of Women Voters Mankato is also holding a Voter 101 program featuring Hazelip on Wednesday July 29th at 11:45am (light lunch) with a program at noon at the VINE Center, 3rd floor conference room, 421 East Hickory Street, Mankato. This event is free and open to the public.
