NEW ULM — New Ulm Area concluded its final home meet of the season on Tuesday night with a pair of wins in a Big South Conference prep wrestling triangular.

The Eagles first took down Waseca 54-22 before ending their night with a 51-24 win over Redwood Valley.

The two wins completed a season sweep for NUA (18-8) of both Waseca and Redwood Valley after the Eagles defeated both teams in January.

Parker Kamm opened the night for the Eagles with a pin over Waseca’s John Feeley at 106 pounds. Kamm trailed 2-0 after an early takedown in the first period but rattled off 9 consecutive points after that. After a reversal in the third put Kamm up 9-2, he pinned Feeley in 5:22 to put NUA up 6-0.

Logan Lee then accepted a forfeit for NUA at 113 before Waseca got back-to-back wins at 120 and 126 to trail 12-11. The wins came from Class AA’s No. 4-ranked Mason Gehloff and No. 8-ranked Luke Osweiler.

Marqavian Haefner then gave NUA an 18-11 lead after going ahead of Grant Cox 9-0 in the second period and then pinning him in 3:53.

Oliver O’Brien got a quick 19-second pin at 138 to have the Bluejays down 18-17 before Ryan Wiltscheck accepted a forfeit for NUA at 145 to give NUA a 24-17 lead. Waseca then got a tech fall at 152 from Christian Rodriguez to trail 24-22.

There was a double forfeit at 160 before Dylen Carreon got a quick takedown and pinned Carter Ellis in 1:15 at 170 to put NUA up 30-22. No. 7-ranked Cole Ranweiler also wasted little time at 182, pinning his opponent Payton Garza in 1:05 to have NUA up 36-22.

Caleb Arndt took a forfeit for NUA at 195 before Julian Hernandez rolled to a 10-2 lead over Buck Kuhns in the third period and secured a pin in 4:43. Jaden Drill ended things against Waseca at heavyweight with a pin in the second period in 2:38 over JD Delgado.

Against Redwood Valley, Kamm started with a tough matchup against the No. 2-ranked wrestler at 106 Carter Brandt. Despite the tough matchup, Kamm kept it close and lost a 7-4 decision.

Lee than put NUA on the board at 113 with a quick 28-second pin over Gavin Brandt. Winston Neinhaus then picked up a pin in 1:41 at 120 before the Cardinals picked up a decision at 126 a pin to tie things up at 12-12.

Wyatt Pollard pinned Jordan Matson at 138 in 6:40 to put NUA back in front 18-12 before a forfeit at 145 tied things up at 18-all. Wiltscheck picked up a 12-6 decision over Brayden Reynolds before Matt Zeug grabbed a pin in 50 seconds to give the Cardinals their first lead of the night, 24-21.

It was all Eagles from there out, however.

Carreon secured his second pin of the night at 170 after pinning Jamen Hennen in 1:32 before Ranweiler and Arndt each accepted a forfeit. Hernandez picked up his second pin of the night at 220 after pinning Griffin Evans in 58 seconds before Drill accepted a forfeit to end the night.

NUA is at New London-Spicer on Thursday for a triangular.
