ESSIG — Essig downed Stark 8-3 on Sunday in Tomahawk East Lague baseball action.

The Bluejays were led by a 2-for-4 day at the plate by Jordan Guggisberg and Jay Helget’s four RBIs and a triple. Kyle Helget also had a hit and an RBI for Essig.

Nolan Drill got the win for Essig, pitching two innings and allowing one hit.

For Stark, Brandon Helget was 2 for 3 with three RBIs and a homer, while Zach Haala and Sean Mathiowetz added a pair of hits each. Nick Labat took the loss on the mound for the Longhorns, pitching three innings and allowing two earned runs on five walks and a hit.

He struck out six batters.
