To the editor:

I am currently an inmate at the Minnesota Correctional Facility in Moose Lake. As an inmate I am in a unique position on the topic of defunding the police, which I disagree with. I am incredibly thankful for law enforcement because they are essential to the safety and protection of the community that they swear to protect and serve.

I strongly believe that law enforcement should not be judged by the poor choices and decisions of a few officers but by the overall performance and valor of others. Police officers take oaths to protect jurisdictions and the people that live in those communities. Even when law enforcement is under pressure and heavy scrutiny they perform their duties loyally, without question and with honor. Don’t let the bad decisions of a few taint the honor of them all. Support law enforcement.
