New Ulm Police

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash at 8th Street North and Payne Street at 4:11 p.m. Feb. 1. A 2002 Lincoln Continental driven by Cin’Anthony Johnson, 16, New Ulm, was northbound on Payne Street when it collided with a 1997 Geo Prizm driven by Mary Grundmeyer, 84, New Ulm, who was eastbound on 8th Street North. The Geo hit the driver side passenger door of the Lincoln. Both drivers wore seat belts and said they didn’t see the other vehicle. Grundmeyer had a minor injury. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.

• Responded to a pedestrian-vehicle crash at Center and German Street at 7:43 a.m. Feb. 2. A 2014 Toyota Sienna driven by Heather Mangen, 55, New Ulm, was turning left onto Center from German Street and struck a pedestrian, Tyleen Miller, 63, New Ulm, who was crossing Center, walking northbound. Mangen said she didn’t see Miller due to windshield frost/fog. Miller had a moderate injury. Mangen wore a seat belt.

Sibley County Sheriff’s Office

• Responded to a one-vehicle crash without reported injuries at 9:10 a.m. Jan. 28 on TH 19 and 280th Street, Severance Township, Gibbon. Si Win, 23, Marshall, was driving a 2021 Toyota corolla eastbound on TH 19, lost control and left the road, hit a street sign and came to a rest on 280th Street. Vehicle damage was moderate. Heavy fog and icy road conditions may have been a crash factor. The Minnesota State Patrol assisted.
