New Ulm Police
• Stopped a vehicle at 3rd St. N. and Broadway at 2:39 p.m. Nov. 14. A 46-year-old Jeffers man was ticketed for driving while using a wireless device.
• Received a report of a 12-year-old New Ulm girl hitting an eight-year-old New Ulm girl on a school bus and calling her names. A report was sent to the school resource officer.
• Received a scam/fraud report from an 84-year-old New Ulm woman who gave her Medicare information to a caller. A report was done for documentation.
• Stopped a vehicle at State Street and Center at 1:12 p.m. Nov. 15 and ticketed a 41-year-old New Ulm woman for speeding 43 in a 30 mph zone.
• Stopped a vehicle at Broadway and 234d St. N. at 2:07 p.m. Nov. 15 and ticketed a 60-year-old Sleepy Eye man for speeding 49 in a 30 mph zone.
• Stopped a vehicle at Highland Ave. and Somsen Street at 2:20 p.m. Nov. 15 and ticketed a 41-year-old South Dakota female for failure to obtain a Minnesota driver’s license and not wearing a seat belt properly.
Sibley County Sheriff’s Office
• Received a call about a one-vehicle crash with minor injuries at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 12 near the intersection of 320th Street and 431st Avenue, Sibley Township. Jara Lynn Schwarzrock, 18, was traveling eastbound on CR 8 on the north end of the curves by Trinity Lutheran Church when she continued straight on 320th Street, veered into the ditch and knocked over a telephone pole. Schwarzrock had minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The vehicle has disabling damage and was towed from the scene. Gaylord Ambulance and Fire Departments assisted.
