New Ulm Police
• Responded to a physical altercation report at a residence on 6th St. N. at 8:31 p.m. Monday, Jan. 10. Police saw bruises on the arm of a 66-year-old New Ulm woman. A 36-year-old New Ulm man denied causing bruises. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
• Responded to the 1000 block of North Spring Street for a lift assist for an 89-year-old New Ulm woman who fell. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at North Garden Street and 15th North Street at 4:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11. Danielle Borchert, 43, New Ulm was driving a 2020 Honda CRV southbound on Garden St. N., stopped, when she was rear-ended by Braxton Greenwalt, 26, New Ulm, who was driving a 2002 Mercury Grand Marquis, also southbound on Garden St. Damage was moderate, non-disabling to the rear end of the Honda and moderate, disabling to the front end of the Mercury. Both drivers wore seat belts.
• Received a criminal damage to property report of a dropbox for The Journal at Boettger Road and Hollywood Ave. at 2:38 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12. The incident happened sometime between the morning and 11 p.m. Jan. 11. Damage was estimated at $300. A report was done for documentation.
• Received a theft report at Walmart Supercenter, 1720 Westridge Road at 8:40 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11. Two females loaded a plastic tote with merchandise and walked out of the store. The incident was on surveillance video. No list of merchandise or loss estimate was available. A report was done for documentation.
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash without injuries at South Bridge Street and 20th South Street at 2:29 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12. Jacob M. Geiger, 22, New Ulm, was driving a 1998 Dodge Ram 2500, stopped at the intersection, then backed up to make room for a semi truck, striking Julie A. Thill, 49, New Ulm, who was driving a 2015 Kia Optima northbound. Damage was minor to the passenger side rear bumper of the Dodge and moderate disabling to the Kia. Both drivers wore seat belts.
