Sleepy Eye Police
• Seeking information from anyone who may have seen suspicious activity near the Sleepy Eye Holiday Lights in Motion donation box between 9 to 10 p.m. Christmas Day. New Ulm Police
• Responded to a suspicious check for $800.34 reported at 11:12 a.m. Dec. 27 passed at Menards’s, 2200 Westridge Rd. A report was sent to investigators.
Renville County Sheriff’s Office
• Responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash report at 9:36 p.m. Dec. 26 on U.S. Highway 71 and CR 15, about one mile north of Morton in Beaver Falls Township. Maryan Ali, 19, Marshall, was extricated from the vehicle and transported by ambulance to Carris Health, Redwood Falls. Ali said she lost control of the vehicle on ice and snow, went towards the right ditch. It is believed she over corrected, sliding into the left ditch, hitting an embankment. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor. Ali wore a seat belt. The Morton Fire Dept. and Medical Response Unit and CentraCare Ambulance, Redwood Falls assisted.
Sibley County Sheriff’s Office
• Deputies responded at to a single-car rollover crash near the intersection of 491st Avenue and 330th Street, south of Gaylord at 5:24 p.m. Dec. 24. A 41-year-old man was driving a 2004 Chevy Monte Carlo eastbound on 330th Street when he left the road on a curve and rolled the car. He wore a seat belt but was transported to North Memorial Hospital, Robbinsdale via helicopter. The Gaylord Fire Dept. and Ambulance and North Memorial Helicopter assisted.
• Responded to a two-vehicle crash near the intersection of State Highway 22 and 280th Street, south of Gaylord at 1:24 a.m. Dec. 27. Shawn Living, 44, Lafayette, La., was southbound on Highway 22 when he lost control of a semi tractor on ice and slid into a stalled semi tractor driven by Barbara Cooney, 57, Winthrop. No injuries were reported. Damage was minor to both vehicles.
