New Ulm Police
• Stopped a 39-year-old New Ulm man for speeding at Broadway and 12th St. S. at 2:05 p.m. Dec. 15. The man was found to have an expired driver’s license and no vehicle insurance. A report was sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office.
• Received a scam/fraud report from a 64-year-old New Ulm woman who said she provided driver’s license information but no other information or money to a scammer who requested it on a Facebook dating site. A report was done for documentation.
• Did a welfare check on a 64-year-old New Ulm man on the 900 block of 5th St. S. and found he was living in filth. A report was sent to Brown County Human Services.

• Received a semi tractor trailer crash report at 7:10 a.m., Dec. 15 at 391st Avenue and 260th Street south of Arlington. Travis Grubb, 28, New Ulm, was trying to turn from 391st Avenue onto 260th Street in dense fog and misjudged the turn. The trailer rear wheels slid into the ditch, causing the truck and trailer to roll on its side. Grubb was not injured. The Arlington Fire Department, Arlington Ambulance and Affordable Towing assisted.

• Received a two-vehicle crash report at 10:12 a.m. Dec. 15 on Highway 212 and CR 6, Renville County. David P. Bunting, 54, Redwood Falls was driving a 2004 Western Star semi southbound on CR 6 when he collided with Heaven L. Uribe, 27, Granite Falls, who was driving a 2017 Dodge Journey eastbound on Highway 212. A passenger in the Dodge, Brandon D. Gefferson, 8, Granite Falls, did not wear a seat belt and was transported to an Olivia hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Uribe and another passenger, Bella V. Gefferson, 9, Granite Falls, had non-life threatening injuries and went to the hospital. Uribe wore a seat belt, Bella Gefferson did not. Bunting was not injured and wore a seat belt. Alcohol was not involved. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Renville Police and Fire, Olivia Fire and Granite Falls ambulance assisted.
• Received a two-vehicle crash report at 8:29 a.m. Dec. 15 on Highway 71 and Renville CR 4, Henryville Township, Renville County. Hafid M. Ahmed, 41, St. Paul, was driving a 2015 Freightliner straight truck eastbound on CR 4 when he collided with Justin K. Trotter, 32, Franklin, who was driving a 2014 Dodge Grand Caravan northbound on Highway 71.
Trotter and a passenger, Keith A. Hendrickson, 27, Redwood Falls and Ahmed were transported to an Olivia hospital with non-life threatening injuries. All three men wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office, Olivia Police and Fire and Centra Care Ambulance assisted.
