New Ulm Police

• Responded to a SUV-bicycle crash without injuries at 7th St. N. and Broadway at 5:43 p.m. Monday. Alexandra J. Aukrust, 23, New Ulm, was westbound on the intersection, waiting for the light to change to green, began turning right onto Broadway. She said the sun was in her eyes when she struck Brayden R. Wilfahrt, 16, New Ulm, who was in the crosswalk. Wilfahrt said he activated the crosswalk and began crossing when given the walk signal and collided with the vehicle. Damage was minor to the bicycle fender and minor to the front bumper/hood of the Jeep.

• Responded to a two-vehicle crash report at 2:27 p.m. Oct. 8 on TH 15 at 120th St., Collins Township, McLeod County. Ashley C. Schauer, 29, Stewart was northbound driving a 1996 GMC Sierra, attempting to turn left into Lake Marion Park when she collided with a 2019 Freightliner tractor, also northbound, driven by Terryn L. Baldwin, 52, Thief River Falls. Schauer was transported to Hutchinson Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She wore a seat belt. Baldwin was not injured and wore a seat belt. No alcohol was involved. The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Renville County

Sheriff’s Office

• Received a 911 call requesting an ambulance for farm accident at 9:51 a.m., Monday near the intersection of 330th Street and 810th Avenue, about a mile southwest of Olivia in Troy Township.

Sheriff’s office personnel arrived first and found Nickolas Kubesh, 25, Olivia, in a tractor that was off the road in a field of standing corn. The tractor was pulling an empty grain cart and entered the west ditch and came to a rest in the field.

According to a news release, the unbelted tractor driver was thrown about inside the tractor cab, causing significant injuries. Medical treatment was administered at the scene and the patient was flown from the scene by Like Link III helicopter to North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Assisting agencies were Olivia Ambulance Service, Olivia Fire/Rescue, Life Link III and the sheriff’s office.

• Issued trespass notices to a 46-year-old New Ulm man and 60-year-old Sleepy Eye man at 4:07 p.m. and 4:11 p.m. Oct. 8 respectively on 225th Street, Milford Township. Reports were sent to the Brown County Attorney’s Office.
