New Ulm Police

• Police responded to a two vehicle accident at 2:01 p.m. Thursday at Center and Broadway. A 2004 Ford Taurus driven by Michael Schuckert, 67, of Courtland was northbound on Broadway. The Taurus was slowing down for an unknown vehicle making a lane change. A 2015 Mazda C-9, driven by Lori Pickell, 46, of New Ulm accidentally accidentally accelerated instead of braking and rear ended the Ford.

The Mazda received minor damage and the Ford moderate damage. Schuckert sustained suspected minor injuries.

Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office

• A deputy attempted to stop a 2004 Chrysler 300 at just after 2 a.m., Jan.21 for an equipment violation near TH 60 and CR 118, near the Watonwan County line. The driver refused to stop resulting in a pursuit at speeds greater than 100 mph. The pursuit continued through Lake Crystal, went south on Highway 169 and ended in Garden City when deputies pinned the car so it could no longer move.

Deputies determined the vehicle was reported stolen in South Dakota. The driver, Shawn E. Humphries, 42, Sioux Falls, was arrested and turned over to Blue Earth County Jail staff on charges related to pursuit and outstanding warrants. A passenger in the car, Abby J. Hall, 32, Sioux Falls, was the only vehicle passenger and is also held in the Blue Earth County Jail on arrest warrants.

No one was injured in the pursuit when there was little or no traffic. Two Blue Earth County squad cars had minor damage. The stolen vehicle and a Blue Earth County squad vehicle had moderate damage. Mankato Department of Public Safety Police and the Minnesota State Patrol assisted.

Minnesota State Patrol, Marshall

• Reported a Pontiac G6 driven by Allison R. Gruber, 17, Jeffers, was eastbound on Highway 14 in Lamberton Township when she lost control and rolled it. She was transported to Redwood Area Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The Redwood County Sheriff’s Office, Centra Care Ambulance, and Lamberton Fire and Ambulance assisted.
